Neuter Party a Success!!!

The first "neuter party" was a great success. We neutered 13 males and gave rabies vaccinations to 24 dogs. Dr. Davis and her assistant, Peggy, were fantastic and were not phased in the least to have to work in our "less than pristine" M.A.S.H. unit! And all the volunteers - Sonia, Carlos, Sandra, Angel, Steve, and Pam were just amazing. If you live in the area and would like to help with neuter round-ups or airlifts off the island, please contact us at info@manosporpatas.org

The most pressing goal now is to get funding for a shelter or at least a temporary place to put all these dogs because they are in danger every day of being hit by cars (one of our favorite girls,
Evelyn, at right) had her back broken being hit by a car and we had to put her to sleep), disease, starvation, and, so sadly, extreme cruelty at the hands of humans. Then we'll start working on another roundup where we'll not only neuter any remaining males but spay all the females as well. We do not yet have corporate sponsorship or funding so all our efforts are dependent on individual donations. If you can help in any way, financially or in-kind (dog food donations, printing for brochures and flyers, t-shirts, ...) please contact us at info@manosporpatas.org.

Food donations for satos

We are looking for companies or individuals who would be willing to donate food for our satos. Many of the large companies, such as WalMart, say they do not give away the broken bags of food but rather throw them away. If anyone has information on companies that would be willing to pass on broken or outdated bags of dog food, please let us know.
