Human beings with special hearts are the backbone of Manos por Patas. Those named below are just a few:

Dominga Beltran, Sandra Cintron, Steve and Pam McGarva, and Sonia Rodriquez who care for the satos every day. They visit taking food, water and love to these animals so needy of attention and they spend their own money on food, medications, vet expenses and transport to the U.S. They also take the animals into their homes, fostering them until better placement is available. Part of the goal of Manos por Patas is to financially assist these people with their work because there would be no Manos por Patas without them;

Dr. Gwen Davis of PAWS who has offered to train local veterinarians in the chemical sterilization process. Dr. Davis also braved the M.A.S.H.-like conditions to neuter 13 males at the beach;

Drs. Alviero, Ramos, Reyes, Rivera, Serrano, and Vasquez who have agreed to charge reduced rates to rescuers for medical care of animals rescued from the beach;

Christine Driscoll, Mary Eldergill, Liz Kracht for their invaluable assistance in boarding, vetting, and shipping animals to the mainland from Puerto Rico;

Jorge Rodriguez Velez of the PR Governor’s office who has been invaluable as a sounding board;

Edilia Vazquez from Save a Sato who has taken in some of our dogs and been a great source for advice;

Chantal Robles from Save a Sato who has been amazing in arranging flights from Puerto Rico to the mainland;

Pet Supplies Plus in Lake Park, FL and Splash Landing in Jupiter, FL who provided us with space to set up a table to take donations and sell raffle tickets;

Alamo Car Rental in Tequesta for providing discounts on cargo van rental for doggie pickups;

Mike and Arlene of Moondog Creations in Jupiter, FL who created and donated shirts for MPP volunteers;

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter, FL for allowing us to hold a rummage sale on their premises;

Ray at Puerto Rico Day trips;

The Fur Seasons and The Bark Park for providing boarding and daycare discounts for our fosters;

Brad Parro who has helped with all the tax-exempt status paperwork;

Kevin and Inger Peterson who have been invaluable sounding boards and mentors;
